Lizzie spent her childhood balancing her dad’s old checkbooks just for fun. After one semester as a psychology major at UC Santa Barbara, she dropped the major in the pursuit of math and never looked back. After college, she stuck around the university as a staff engineer working in a cleanroom laboratory where she supervised the growth of micro-diamonds and spent a lot of time looking at tiny things through a microscope.

Outside of her math classes, Lizzie enjoys collecting stamps on her passport, trying her hand at various arts and crafts, road trips, and hunting down novelty vegan food.
